From my Easel to You

Why do I paint?  I was asked that question once, the answer was, because I love it, because I can, but I paint because it is who I am. It is a part of me that cannot be denied.

To paint the soft eye of a horse or the muzzle with its fine whiskers, the grace and beauty of movement, for me is my dream. I have loved and lost some wonderful animals of my own, they taught me the importance of being true to your animals as I paint them, the finished piece must capture all that is them.

I’m very proud to showcase my Fine art prints in the shop. When you buy from me you are not buying a mass produced product you are buying hundreds of hours of experimentation, years of frustration and moments of pure joy, something made with feeling and pride.

I was also invited to show paintings at the prestigious World Cup Polo event in the Hunter Valley in 2018 and to be part of the Emerson Exhibition at the highly acclaimed Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort in the Blue Mountains.

To be an artist is who I am to the exclusion of all else. When you are my client you get a piece of my life, a piece of my soul.

WINX – LIMITED EDITION PRINT

So some time ago I was given permission from Debbie Kepitis via Analese Trollope of Chris Waller Racing to paint Winx, I did this painting after her 25th win. The owners all saw it at that time however something Patty Tighe said made me decide not to show it until after she had safely finished racing! I am somewhat superstitious!

So that I could share my painting with you I have created a strictly limited edition print run. This is your chance to own a bespoke piece of Winx history, each hand signed by me with a certificate of authenticity. Once they are sold this print image will never be available again. When you purchase from me you, you do so knowing that I spent countless hours creating this and it was painted from my heart and soul.

I genuinely hope you love my painting as my as I loved creating it!
Helen

MEET THE TEAM

I would like to introduce you to my wonderful team members, I could not manage without their love and support.

ceo
Ted

My name is Ted; I am the CEO, I am the one who is responsible for keeping this whole show on the road! For making sure Mum works hard to fulfil her commitment to you, to give you the most beautiful painting possible. I am also required to keep others (namely Cloudy and Scrumpy) from bothering her, to keep her company on my strategically placed bed and to also make sure she has breaks, mostly so I can get treats.

creative director & quality control

Cloudy

My name is Cloudy, I am the creative director, my role is to direct…. Creatively….. not really sure what that means but apparently I’m very good at it. I am also responsible for quality control, rest assured I constantly jump up on Mum’s lap while she is painting to make sure she is doing the best possible job for you. I also believe I’m the one in charge of quality control of the treats.

pr & sales

Scrumpy

My name is Scrumpy, I am PR and Sales, I am excellent at my job just because once you look into my eyes, my chocolate muffin eyes, see only my eyes, you will just melt and I will be able to get you to do anything I want!! Although, I may have to work on my technique a bit, as it doesn’t seem to be working with Mum when I’m turning on my best chocolate muffin eyes to get the treats.

the apprentice

Riv

Hi my name is Riv, I am the apprentice. I am only young and have a lot to learn but one day I hope to take over the reins of mum’s business and my aim is to keep it all driving forward, but at the moment I am a bit of a dogsbody. I am learning a lot, how to play with a stick, how to put on my mud makeup just when mum wants to take my photo and how to play catch me if you can. Ted, Cloudy and Scrumpy are wonderful, they encourage me in everything I do. Mum says she is hoping I get there in the end.

I've been wanting to try this forever! Scratchboard art is using sharpe tools to scratch away the suface to reveal the clay board underneath. The lighter the touch the more sublte, the heavier , the brighter! Have discovered you need a really light touch for this and a steady hand! as if you scratch to hard there is no real going back! transfered my drawing using white transfer paper and started scratching away! omg, so much fun to do, a new addiction right here!! There are a lot of different techniques to learn to do this really well, and some of the art I have seen is mind blowing! Something to aim for, this is just a small one, as wasnt sure how I would go with it. ... See MoreSee Less

EDIT! Beautiful Wolfie has a new home! One that he will have special meaning for and he will be so cherished in! That makes me happy and teary all at the same time!!!
Wolfie is finished!! I'm in love with him. he has just gotten better and better as I've gone on. His presence has filled my little studio space, I've found myself just siting staring at him, very compelling. he seems to have a feeling of peace and at oneness with his environment, a kind of gentle strength which has been soothing for me this week.
I have had him photographed now so if anyone would also this beauty in your home just message me and I can organise a print for you.

progress is slow on this one due to the amount of commission work I currently have and this is a big canvas at 1.2mt wide, this is extremely raw and rough at this stage! this is going to be the sister painting to Stretch, I am going to call it "Reach Out". Calling it that for a few reasons, this beautiful mare was really shy in the photo session and this was a moment when she reached out for some reassurance, so when she is paired with Stretch, she will be reaching out to him and he will stretch his nose out to her for a gentle kiss. It will be love! 💞🥰
